What you'll do

Design and develop new technical solutions to deliver news experiences across web, mobile, and connected TV platforms.
Translate business requirements from product and editorial stakeholders into robust technical solutions.
Build and maintain high-availability data pipelines and core distribution services for real-time content delivery.
Determine and implement effective testing strategies including unit, integration, and performance tests.
Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and take responsibility for approved production code.
Monitor distributed components and investigate root causes during production incidents using logs and monitoring tools.
Champion engineering best practices regarding code quality, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and incident response.
Create technical documentation to promote knowledge sharing across the engineering organization.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field of study.
3+ years of experience building and operating highly available, distributed backend systems in production environments.
Experience developing large-scale backend services using Golang (preferred) and/or Java.
Experience deploying and scaling services within cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
Understanding of caching technologies such as Redis, Memcached, or similar.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and source control systems like Git, GitLab, or Jenkins.
Experience with observability tools for metrics, logging, and monitoring such as Datadog or Grafana.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
