As a Senior Principal SDE within the DC Software and Automation team, you will provide technical leadership for software and services that power the full data center lifecycle, including planning, design, build, and operations. What you'll do

Architect and operate distributed services supporting the full data center lifecycle including planning, design, building, and operations.
Own feature delivery from initial design through production rollout, including implementation, testing, and deployment planning.
Execute a builder-operator model by participating in on-call rotations and driving service reliability improvements based on operational data.
Lead technical reviews for architecture and functional designs while ensuring systems are secure by default and easily supportable.
Improve engineering velocity by strengthening code review practices and enhancing CI/CD and automated test coverage.
Reduce operational toil by developing automation, self-service capabilities, and robust observability tools like metrics, logs, and tracing.
Mentor engineers across different levels to establish standards for operational excellence and proactive service ownership.
Translate product requirements into technical roadmaps while communicating risks and trade-offs to leadership and stakeholders.

What we're looking for

A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
10+ years of full stack software development including design, implementation, and operation of distributed services.
Experience owning production services end-to-end in a builder-operator model including on-call and continuous improvement.
Proficiency in product development using Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript.
Expertise in designing REST APIs and building multi-tenant services with clear isolation and lifecycle management.
Knowledge of databases, NoSQL systems, storage concepts, and distributed persistence technologies.
Proven technical leadership skills to manage multiple initiatives, unblock teams, and drive high engineering quality.
