The Senior Network Solution Engineer (Weekend Coverage) joins the NVIDIA Experience Solutions Engineering team to bridge the gap between customer support and R&D. This role involves resolving sophisticated problems for InfiniBand, NVLink, and Spectrum-X network systems that interconnect GPUs and AI compute infrastructure. You will reproduce and root cause customer issues, develop bug fixes and workarounds with R&D teams, and create analysis tools. Daily tasks include live triage of critical issues and software development for core products. Required skills include software development in C, C++, Python, or Go, and experience with Linux NIC drivers, switch ASICs, SDKs, firmware, or network operating systems. You must possess expert knowledge of Ethernet and IP routing at the byte level to debug complex logic within production networking environments.
Reproduce, resolve, and root cause sophisticated customer issues for AI cluster network technologies.
Work with R&D teams to develop bug fixes, workarounds, and solutions for customers.
Perform live triage of critical and high-profile networking issues directly with customer engineers.
Develop support and analysis tools to identify and root cause field issues.
Use AI tools for software development, log analysis, and source code debugging.
Work within R&D teams to develop core software and perform bug fixes.
Relay technical information to R&D engineers, support groups, account teams, and executive management.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience developing software in C, C++, Python, or Go.
5+ years of experience directly supporting end-customers, partners, or integrators for network equipment and infrastructures.
Software development experience in the networking industry for a network hardware manufacturer or software integrator.
Experience triaging and resolving critical in-field, in-production networking problems with customers and support groups.
Experience analyzing, developing, and debugging at least two of: Linux NIC drivers, switch ASICs/SDKs, embedded firmware, Linux network equipment, or network operating systems.
Expert knowledge of Ethernet and IP routing down to the protocol's byte level.
Ability to analyze complex systems flow and find logic bugs within unfamiliar software layers.
