The Senior Network Solution Engineer (Weekend Coverage) joins the NVEX Solutions Engineering team to serve as an authority on groundbreaking network technology for AI clusters. This role bridges the gap between customer support and R&D by resolving complex issues involving InfiniBand, NVLink, and Spectrum-X systems that interconnect GPUs and AI compute infrastructure. You will perform deep code and logic analysis, develop support tools, and collaborate with R&D teams to create bug fixes and feature enhancements. The position requires expertise in C, C++, Python, or Go, along with experience debugging Linux NIC drivers, switch ASICs, SDKs, firmware, and network operating systems. Candidates must possess a deep understanding of Ethernet and IP routing at the byte level while utilizing AI tools for log analysis and source code debugging to resolve high-impact problems within complex networking environments.
Reproduce, resolve, and root cause sophisticated customer issues within network and AI cluster environments.
Collaborate with R&D teams to develop bug fixes, workarounds, and technical solutions for customers.
Perform live triage of critical and high-profile networking issues directly with customer engineers.
Develop internal tools to analyze and root cause field issues involving InfiniBand, NVLink, and Spectrum-X.
Utilize AI tools for software development, log analysis, and source code debugging.
Work within R&D teams to develop core software features and bug fixes.
Communicate technical information to diverse groups including R&D engineers, support teams, and executive management.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience developing software using C, C++, Python, or Go.
5+ years of experience directly supporting end-customers, partners, or integrators for network equipment and infrastructures.
Experience with software development in the networking industry for hardware manufacturers or software integrators.
Experience analyzing, developing, and debugging at least two of: Linux NIC drivers, switch ASICs/SDKs, embedded firmware, Linux-based network equipment, or network operating systems.
Expert knowledge of Ethernet and IP routing down to the protocol's byte level.
Proven ability to triage and resolve critical in-field, in-production networking problems with support groups and customers.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to relay technical information to R&D, support teams, and executive management.
