JOB TITLE: Senior ML/AI Engineer - Agentic Developer Experience As a Senior ML/AI Engineer - Agentic Developer Experience, you will join the AV Developer Productivity Org to build and maintain a cohesive inner loop development experience for autonomous vehicle engineers. You will identify engineering pain points, design scalable solutions, and ship improvements to AV development toolchains to optimize code production. Your daily work involves evaluating new technologies through PoCs, mentoring engineers, and driving software engineering best practices. You must possess a deep understanding of AI engineering principles, production systems at scale, and Unix/Linux fundamentals. Required skills include proficiency in Go, networking, and designing maintainable services. You will solve the technical problem of improving developer productivity by integrating internal and vendor tools to streamline the development lifecycle for self-driving technology.

What you'll do

Identify engineering pain points and design scalable, maintainable solutions.
Ship improvements to AV development toolchains to increase engineering productivity.
Evaluate new tools and technologies through Proof of Concepts.
Establish technical roadmaps by synthesizing company context and customer information.
Drive software engineering best practices and create tooling to encourage them.
Mentor and grow the technical skills of engineers on the team.
Balance the delivery of new features with the management of technical debt.
Set boundaries on external requests to ensure alignment with the team vision.

What we're looking for

3+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production systems at scale in the cloud.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
Understanding of AI Engineering principles and concepts.
Experience writing in effective Go or other equivalent languages at production scale.
Understanding of Unix/Linux, SSH, and networking fundamentals.
Ability to lead, influence, and mentor engineers while managing competing priorities under pressure.
Experience working with GCP (preferred).
Experience working with gRPC, Docker, and Kubernetes (preferred).
