The Senior AI/ML Engineer - Autonomy CI Platform joins the Continuous Integration Platform team within the AI and Cloud Developer Productivity Organization. You will own technical projects from start to finish, lead complex cross-team initiatives, and mentor other engineers while driving software engineering best practices. Key responsibilities include enabling source code editing in developer environments and collaborating with internal customers to integrate tools. Required skills include experience with Go, Python, Unix/Linux, SSH, and networking fundamentals. You will build scalable, reliable production systems to accelerate autonomous vehicle development by improving developer workflows for building, testing, and releasing software.

What you'll do

Support and extend the Remote Build Execution (RBE) service and the in-house FUSE file system.
Enable source code editing in developer environments from the FUSE file system.
Own technical projects from start to finish, including making major technical decisions and trade-offs.
Lead complex projects that span multiple teams, partners, and customers.
Drive software engineering best practices and create tooling to support these practices.
Mentor and up-level other engineers on the team.
Conduct technical interviews and participate in recruiting activities.
Contribute impactful projects to the team’s roadmap and participate in design discussions.

What we're looking for

3+ years of experience designing, building and operating production systems at scale in the cloud.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience designing highly scalable, reliable, and maintainable services.
Experience writing in Go, Python, or other languages at production scale.
Understanding of Unix/Linux, SSH, and networking fundamentals.
Ability to lead, influence others, and manage competing priorities under pressure.
Passion for mentoring junior engineers and self-driving technology.
Experience working with GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes (preferred); experience owning or contributing to Open-Source projects (preferred).
