SUMMARY

Q2 is seeking a Senior Marketing Operations Technologist. This role will help shape the future of our marketing technology ecosystem. This is an opportunity to build what comes next: smarter lifecycle orchestration, cleaner system design, stronger cross-functional alignment, and practical AI that improves how go-to-market teams’ work. This is a high-impact individual contributor role for a builder, systems thinker, and technical strategist who can translate lifecycle vision into scalable system, intelligent automation, and measurable business outcomes. You will play a critical role in modernizing how marketing systems connect, how lifecycle decisions are automated, and how data, workflows, and AI come together to create better experiences and better performance.

In this role, you will own and evolve the core lifecycle technology stack across Marketo, Salesforce, LeanData, 6sense, and the broader web and data ecosystem that supports lifecycle intelligence. You will design the systems, workflows, and governance that power lifecycle progression, lead and account routing, database quality, and AI-enabled automation. You will also help guide how Marketing Operations expands toward a more connected Revenue Operations model over time, partnering closely with Sales, Analytics, and Corporate IT teams to build scalable solutions that work across the business.

The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on expertise in marketing systems with strong business judgment, cross-functional influence, and a passion for improving how teams work through technology, smarter automation, and governed use of AI. This role is well suited for someone energized by complexity, excited by emerging technology, and motivated to turn ambitious ideas into durable operating reality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • A key priority of this role is to create scalable, efficient, and governed lifecycle solutions that improve how marketing and sales teams operate.
  • Own the lifecycle design across Marketo, Salesforce, LeanData, 6sense, and connected web and data platforms, including stage progression, nurture logic, handoff workflows, routing design, scoring inputs, intent-driven orchestration, and recycle or re-entry rules.
  • Design, implement, and optimize intelligent automation and AI-driven workflows that improve lifecycle progression, lead and account routing, database health, operational efficiency, and user experience.
  • Develop and manage supervised AI use cases for agentic automation, AI-assisted routing, workflow orchestration, prioritization, enrichment, classification, duplicate management, and database maintenance within defined governance guardrails.
  • Serve as the senior technologist within Marketing Operations, leading solution design reviews, technical standards, and system guidance for specialists working across the stack.
  • Partner closely with PM to support intake, planning, change management, and execution governance by providing technical sizing, technology guidance, dependency mapping, and risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, business analysts, PMs, Corporate IT, and leadership to translate business strategy into lifecycle execution and technical capabilities into business value.
  • Work in close partnership with analytics resources to align tracking implementation, lifecycle definitions, schema, attribution inputs, and data structures used for reporting and decision-making across Power BI and related analytics environments.
  • Drive system and process improvements that strengthen customer intelligence, lifecycle performance, data usability, and operational scale.
  • Act as a key liaison to Corporate IT, Sales Operations, Web, Security, and other cross-functional partners in support of the lifecycle technology stack, system integrations, access models, identity and data flows, website instrumentation, and change governance.
  • Ensure accurate data is collected, governed, and shared effectively across systems to support strong lifecycle execution and decision-making.
  • Ensure all security, privacy, availability, confidentiality, internal controls, AI governance standards, and enterprise technology requirements are followed in system and workflow design.
  • Lead enablement and training on lifecycle strategy, automation standards, AI workflow usage, and best practices for the broader Marketing Operations team.
  • Evaluate, refine, and document requirements that inform marketing software purchases, vendor partnerships, renewals, expansions, and stack rationalization decisions.
  • Support the evolution of Marketing Operations toward a broader Revenue Operations model through stronger interoperability, better lifecycle design, and more intelligent process automation.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Marketing or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in B2B marketing operations, revenue operations, marketing technology, or related technical roles, with preference for B2B SaaS experience.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance systems thinking and business impact.
  • Deep knowledge of marketing operations principles, lifecycle design, automation, and data governance.
  • Hands-on expertise with Marketo and Salesforce, including lifecycle processing, nurture programs, lead scoring, campaign operations, sync behavior, routing logic, forms, landing pages, and database governance.
  • Experience working with LeanData, 6sense, Google Tag Manager, Munchkin, HubSpot CMS, content engagement software, website tracking frameworks, and related workflow orchestration technologies.
  • Experience designing and implementing AI-enabled workflows, intelligent automation, agentic AI use cases, or AI-assisted decisioning within go-to-market, lifecycle, routing, web personalization, or database management environments.
  • Experience defining governance guardrails, testing approaches, QA standards, monitoring practices, rollback plans, and change-control practices for system and workflow changes.
  • Strong ability to gather and refine requirements, assess technical feasibility, and translate business needs into scalable, practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences and partner effectively with Corporate IT and other enterprise stakeholders.
  • A self-starter mindset with strong ownership, curiosity, and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
  • Flexible, forward-looking, and excited to help shape the next phase of lifecycle intelligence, AI-enabled automation, and connected go-to-market operations at Q2.
