As Senior Manager, Technical Documentation, Data Center Facilities, you will lead the documentation operating model for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure data center operations. You will manage a team of specialists to ensure that critical procedures, standards, playbooks, and knowledge articles are accurate, controlled, and field-usable. Your daily work involves building systems and governance models to maintain content across a rapidly scaling portfolio while partnering with engineering, safety, and reliability teams. You will translate complex technical processes into actionable, auditable documentation including SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and runbooks. The role requires expertise in information architecture, content lifecycle management, and technical writing for mission-critical infrastructure. Key tools and systems include CMMS, DCIM, BMS, EPMS, SCADA, and various knowledge management platforms to ensure safe execution and operational consistency within a high-availability data center environment.
Own the technical documentation strategy and governance model for data center operations, including standards, lifecycle management, and version control.
Lead and develop a team of documentation managers, writers, and procedure specialists across the data center portfolio.
Establish enterprise standards for SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, runbooks, and other critical operational playbooks.
Partner with subject matter experts to convert complex technical requirements into clear, actionable, and field-ready procedures.
Create operating mechanisms to align documentation with infrastructure changes, safety requirements, and risk controls.
Drive quality through structured reviews, procedure validation, and periodic refresh cycles of all content.
Develop taxonomy, metadata standards, and reporting dashboards to improve searchability and compliance visibility.
Measure and report on documentation health metrics such as content currency, audit findings, and field adoption.
What we're looking for
Must have 8+ years of experience in technical documentation, knowledge management, or data center operations.
Must have 3+ years of experience leading teams, programs, or cross-functional documentation initiatives.
Experience building documentation systems for mission-critical environments including SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and runbooks is required.
Strong understanding of data center operations, critical infrastructure, and related safety and compliance requirements is required.
Ability to translate complex technical processes from subject matter experts into clear, actionable, and field-ready procedures.
Experience implementing documentation governance, lifecycle controls, version management, and content quality metrics.
A Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
Proficiency in information architecture, technical writing, and program management for large-scale infrastructure environments.
