As Senior Manager, Technical Documentation, Data Center Facilities, you will lead the documentation operating model for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure data center operations. Serving as a senior people leader within Central Data Center Operations, you will manage a team of documentation specialists to develop and maintain critical procedures, standards, playbooks, and knowledge articles. You will partner with engineering, safety, and reliability teams to translate complex technical processes into auditable, field-ready content for hyperscale environments. Key responsibilities include establishing governance for SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs, managing content lifecycles, and ensuring documentation supports safe execution and incident readiness. You will utilize skills in technical writing, information architecture, and program management while leveraging tools like CMMS, DCIM, and SharePoint-style repositories to ensure operational resilience and procedural discipline.
Own the technical documentation strategy and governance model for data center operations, including standards, lifecycle management, and version control.
Lead and develop a team of documentation managers, writers, and procedure specialists across the data center portfolio.
Establish enterprise standards for SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, runbooks, and other critical operational playbooks.
Partner with subject matter experts to convert complex technical requirements into clear, actionable, and field-ready procedures.
Create operating mechanisms to align documentation with infrastructure changes, safety requirements, and risk controls.
Drive quality through structured reviews, procedure validation, and periodic refresh cycles of all content.
Develop taxonomy, metadata standards, and reporting dashboards to improve searchability and compliance visibility.
Measure and report on documentation health metrics such as content currency, audit findings, and field adoption.
What we're looking for
8+ years of experience in data center technical documentation, knowledge management, engineering support, or documentation governance within data center environments.
3+ years of experience leading documentation teams, programs, vendors, or cross-functional initiatives supporting data center operations.
Experience building data center documentation systems including SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, runbooks, and maintenance procedures.
Strong understanding of data center operations including electrical, mechanical, controls, network, safety, and incident response.
Ability to translate complex technical processes into clear, actionable, and field-ready procedures for diverse stakeholders.
Experience implementing documentation governance, content lifecycle controls, version management, and quality metrics.
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, Operations, Information Systems, English, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
Experience in mission-critical settings like hyperscale data centers, industrial operations, or manufacturing (preferred).
