The role addresses the technical challenge of managing large-scale data ingestion and distributed telemetry systems across hundreds of data-producing units. The manager must navigate complex platform modernization initiatives while ensuring high availability and performance for thousands of users within a sophisticated enterprise environment.

What you'll do

  • Lead the engineering, operations, and continuous evolution of the enterprise Observability Data Platform.
  • Oversee telemetry ingestion, data processing, and platform capabilities for monitoring and analytics.
  • Ensure the platform remains secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-efficient for thousands of users.
  • Define and execute the platform strategy and roadmap in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Drive automation, performance optimization, capacity planning, and continuous service improvements.
  • Establish engineering standards, governance processes, and security controls to ensure platform integrity.
  • Lead, coach, and develop high-performing engineering teams while fostering a culture of ownership.
  • Manage strategic vendor relationships and technology partnerships to support business objectives.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience (HS diploma plus 4 years relevant experience).
  • 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise-scale data, platform, infrastructure, observability, or cloud engineering environments.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience building high-performing teams and delivering complex, cross-functional technical initiatives.
  • 5+ years of experience operating large-scale cloud and/or hybrid platforms with responsibility for reliability, monitoring, incident management, and operational excellence.
  • 3+ years of experience leading complex, enterprise-wide engineering initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups and technology teams.
  • Proficiency with enterprise observability platforms including Splunk, Cribl, and OpenTelemetry (preferred).
  • Background in cloud-native data platforms and architectures, such as Databricks, Azure, and distributed telemetry ecosystems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Security Operations, SIEM platforms, and streaming/messaging technologies like Kafka (preferred).
