Senior Manager, ETRM joins the consulting team to lead complex energy trading and risk management implementations. This role involves managing full-lifecycle program plans across front-office, risk, back-office, and IT workstreams while overseeing commodity risk workflows like VaR reporting, P&L attribution, and credit risk capabilities. The position requires building physical delivery systems for gas, power, and LNG logistics, alongside integrating enterprise systems such as SAP S/4HANA and Oracle Financials with market data feeds from Bloomberg or Refinitiv. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Dodd-Frank, EMIR, and MiFID II regulations while driving business development to identify new consulting opportunities. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in FIX protocols, SQL, and project management tools like Jira. This role solves critical infrastructure challenges for energy firms navigating complex regulatory environments and the transition toward renewable energy markets.
Manage ETRM implementation programs including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation across multiple workstreams.
Lead all project phases from initiation through post-go-live stabilization using Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid frameworks.
Configure risk management workflows for position management, P&L attribution, limit monitoring, and VaR reporting.
Implement physical commodity workflows including gas nominations, power scheduling, and crude/LNG logistics.
Oversee integration of enterprise systems such as ERPs, market data feeds, and regulatory reporting platforms.
Ensure compliance with Dodd-Frank, EMIR, MiFID II, and FERC regulations for trade reporting and risk management.
Lead change management initiatives including business readiness assessments, training, and communication planning for stakeholders.
Identify and pursue new ETRM consulting opportunities to grow the practice pipeline and revenue.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Master's degree (preferred).
10+ years of experience in energy trading technology, ETRM implementation, or commodity risk management.
At least 5 years of experience in a senior program management role.
Proven track record of delivering at least two full-lifecycle ETRM implementations across front-office, risk, physical operations, and back-office workstreams.
Experience with physical commodity operations, enterprise system integrations (ERP, treasury, market data), and multi-platform ETRM systems.
Demonstrated experience in consulting sales cycles, including qualifying opportunities, developing proposals, and performing business development.
Relevant certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or SAFe SPC (preferred); CFA or FRM credentials are a plus (preferred).
