Senior Manager, Electrical Engrg serves as a hardware engineering manager within the Broadband Communications Systems sector, leading the execution of new development programs and sustaining efforts for the Tactical Data Link product line. In this dual role, you will manage the Circuit Card Assembly design team, providing technical direction to digital and analog/RF hardware designers while collaborating with cross-functional teams like systems, software, and program management. You will oversee project performance, including schedule, cost, and technical decisions, while ensuring designs meet customer specifications through configuration management. The role requires expertise in high-reliability electronic radio products, PCB development, and FPGA design flows. You will also manage labor planning, mentor staff, and lead failure investigations to resolve production issues for complex communication systems within the defense industry context.
Lead the execution of new development programs and sustaining efforts for Tactical Data Link products.
Provide technical direction and oversight to a team of digital and analog/RF hardware designers.
Ensure all designs and product performances meet specific customer requirements and specifications.
Manage engineering program performance regarding technical scope, schedules, and cost approvals.
Lead failure investigations related to design issues, production build processes, and customer returns.
Coordinate with Operations to transition new hardware designs into manufacturing and production.
Assist the Department Manager with labor planning, resource management, and staff development.
Maintain technical data packages and apply configuration management principles to all design documentation.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree with 9 years of experience, a graduate degree with 7 years of experience, or 13 years of experience without a degree.
9 years of experience in the design of high-reliability electronic radio products and related subassemblies including PCB and FPGA development.
Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance (must be a U.S. citizen).
Deep experience in Electrical Engineering and prior work experience within the Defense industry (preferred).
Experience and demonstrated competence in technical leadership for large complex programs and IRAD efforts (preferred).
Strong understanding of both PCB hardware and FPGA design development flows (preferred).
Experience in system level development, requirements definition, analysis, integration, and risk mitigation for large communications systems (preferred).
Proven ability to lead highly technical teams and communicate effectively with engineers and executive management (preferred).
