Manager, Electrical Engrg: Level 5 serves as a dual-role leadership position within the Broadband Communications Systems sector. You will lead the Circuit Card Assembly design team, providing technical direction and oversight to digital and analog/RF hardware designers while managing the execution of new development programs and sustaining efforts for Tactical Data Link products. Responsibilities include overseeing project performance, ensuring designs meet customer specifications, managing configuration processes, leading failure investigations, and coordinating with cross-functional teams like Systems and Software. You will also manage resource planning, talent development, and manufacturing transitions. The role requires expertise in high-reliability electronic radio products, PCB and FPGA development, and system-level integration for large communications systems. Candidates must possess strong technical leadership skills to navigate complex programs while ensuring all hardware requirements are met within the defense industry context.
Lead the execution of new development programs and sustaining efforts for Tactical Data Link products.
Provide technical direction and oversight to a team of digital and analog/RF hardware designers.
Ensure all hardware designs and product performances meet specific customer requirements and specifications.
Manage engineering program performance regarding technical scope, schedules, and costs including proposal reviews.
Lead failure investigations related to design issues, production build processes, and customer returns.
Coordinate with Operations to transition new hardware designs into production using established company processes.
Assist the Department Manager with labor planning, resource allocation, and staff performance management.
Mentor and coach team members to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s Degree and 9 years of experience, a Graduate Degree and 7 years of experience, or 13 years of experience without a degree.
9 years of experience in the design of high-reliability electronic radio products including PCB and FPGA development.
Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance (must be a U.S. citizen).
Deep experience in Electrical Engineering and prior work within the Defense industry (preferred).
Experience and demonstrated competence in technical leadership for large complex programs and IRAD efforts (preferred).
Strong understanding of both PCB hardware and FPGA design development flows (preferred).
Experience in system level development, requirements definition, analysis, integration, and risk mitigation for large communications systems (preferred).
Proven ability to lead highly technical teams and communicate confidently with engineers and executive management (preferred).
