Senior Mainframe CoolGen Developer

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-volume enterprise applications using CA Gen/CoolGen and Mainframe technologies.
• Assess legacy CA Gen applications for maintainability, scalability, performance, and modernization readiness.
• Perform technical impact analysis, debugging, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning for complex application issues.
• Manage batch processing activities including job scheduling, dependency analysis, abend resolution, and cycle monitoring.
• Execute modernization initiatives such as component rationalization, API enablement, and re-platforming.
• Support full testing lifecycles including unit testing, SIT, UAT, and post-production validation.
• Provide technical guidance to team members on complex development and design decisions.

What we're looking for

• 6–9 years of relevant experience in designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise Mainframe applications.
• Strong hands-on experience in CA Gen/CoolGen application development.
• Strong technical proficiency in Mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, TSO/ISPF, and VSAM.
• Strong knowledge of DB2/SQL, including database queries, data analysis, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Experience with batch processing, including job scheduling, dependency analysis, abend resolution, restart/recovery, and batch-cycle monitoring.
• Experience supporting unit testing, SIT, UAT, release/deployment activities, and post-production validation.
• Experience assessing legacy CA Gen applications for maintainability, scalability, and modernization readiness.
• Experience resolving complex performance and production issues across CA Gen and Mainframe applications (preferred).
