Mainframe Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Develop and implement high-quality, secure software solutions to enhance core product capabilities for the Gen platform.
• Lead architectural design and technical strategy to ensure robust security standards and a seamless user experience.
• Perform hands-on coding, conduct code reviews, and influence testing strategies for mainframe systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer cases that have been escalated to the engineering team.
• Act as a subject matter expert by authoring technical blogs, webinars, and documentation on best practices.
• Provide thought leadership and consulting to enterprise customers regarding modernization strategies and business requirements.
• Mentor other engineers and provide technical guidance across the Mainframe Software Division.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent degree.
• 12+ years of experience in software development.
• Deep expertise and hands-on coding experience in COBOL and IBM Assembler.
• Experience with zOS systems components including LE, ISPF, CICS, IMS, WebSphere Liberty, and DB2.
• Expertise in deep-dive debugging using system dumps, advanced diagnostic tools like IPCS, and performance tuning.
• Experience working with middleware such as ECI, TCP/IP, or IBM MQ.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentor other software engineers.
• Experience implementing cybersecurity principles and using products like RACF, ACF2, Top Secret, and TLS.
