What you'll do

  • Lead end-to-end mainframe modernization engagements from initial discovery through cloud migration and stabilization.
  • Define modernization strategies and transformation roadmaps using AI-driven portfolio analysis and complexity assessment.
  • Apply generative AI tools to accelerate code comprehension, conversion, documentation, and engineering productivity.
  • Provide technical governance for cloud-native architectures, AI tool selection, and responsible-AI guardrails.
  • Develop reusable accelerators and intellectual property to advance AI-led modernization capabilities.
  • Mentor consulting and engineering teams while supporting client workshops and solutioning.
  • Architect complex transformation solutions and manage technical risks for large-scale legacy programs.

What we're looking for

  • 12+ years of hands-on experience with mainframe applications including COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, IMS, and/or Assembler.
  • Proven track record delivering end-to-end mainframe modernization including code conversion, application decomposition, API enablement, and cloud migration.
  • Hands-on experience applying generative AI and LLM-enabled capabilities to modernization for code comprehension, rule extraction, and automated refactoring.
  • Strong knowledge of mainframe modernization, cloud, and engineering platforms including IBM z/OS Connect, AWS Mainframe Modernization, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong consulting experience architecting complex transformation solutions and engaging senior client stakeholders to communicate business value and ROI.
  • Practical experience designing AI-assisted code conversion pipelines, prompt engineering, and responsible-AI practices (preferred).
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Solutions Architect, Azure AI Engineer, or TOGAF (preferred).
