Senior Low Observables Technician

What you'll do

• Apply low observable (LO) coatings, radar absorbing materials (RAM), and aerospace primers to composite and metallic structures.
• Perform surface preparation including solvent cleaning, hand abrasion, media blasting, masking, and surface energy verification.
• Mix multi-component coating systems while tracking pot life, viscosity, and specific material ratios.
• Apply coatings using HVLP spray, airless spray, trowel, squeegee, and brush methods to meet thickness and performance requirements.
• Conduct in-process quality checks including wet/dry film thickness, surface profile, adhesion testing, and visual inspections.
• Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as spray systems, mixing stations, and curing ovens.
• Interpret engineering drawings, process specifications, work instructions, and MIL-spec documents to guide production.
• Maintain detailed documentation for batch records, environmental logs, material traceability, and inspection results.

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of experience applying coatings in a production or research environment.
• Proficiency with HVLP and conventional spray equipment while controlling DFT within tight tolerances.
• Experience with composite substrate surface preparation including hand abrasion, solvent wipe, and media blast.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process specifications, and MIL-spec documents.
• U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance.
• Ability to wear full PPE for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience with military aircraft programs or LO coatings (preferred); active Secret or Top Secret clearance (preferred).
