TL;DR · Staff Product Quality Engineer, Low Observables

Staff Product Quality Engineer, Low Observables will join the Quality Engineering Team to support the Fury autonomous aircraft program. This role is integrated into the product realization lifecycle, where you will define and execute quality processes for low observable structures, coatings, and integrated RF subsystems. You will serve as the primary interface for Low Observable and RF systems, collaborating with design, manufacturing, and test teams to ensure components meet stringent survivability requirements. Key responsibilities include developing Quality Control Plans, managing PPAP and FAI processes, and leading root cause investigations. Required expertise includes RF system engineering, advanced metrology, and specialized aerospace materials. You will utilize tools such as MatLab, JMP, or MiniTab for data analysis while ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards. The role solves critical challenges in maintaining high-performance signatures and reliable communications for aircraft in contested environments.

What you'll do

  • Act as the primary quality interface for Low Observable (LO) and RF systems throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Provide DFM, DFT, DFR, and DFI feedback during the design review of antennas and LO features.
  • Develop and implement Quality Control Plans for manufacturing, integrating, and sustaining LO structures and coatings.
  • Lead Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and First Article Inspection (FAI) for specialized RF components.
  • Establish Statistical Process Control (SPC) and define critical process parameters for LO material applications.
  • Develop and approve test plans for anechoic chamber testing, near-field/far-field measurements, and RCS measurements.
  • Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities for manufacturing defects.
  • Audit the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with AS9100 and other aerospace standards.

What we're looking for

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another STEM field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, or Product Test Engineering focused on RF systems or Low Observable technologies.
  • Proficient understanding of RF concepts including aperture antennas, impedance matching, link-budget analysis, and co-site interference.
  • Experience with quality validation of antenna modeling tools such as HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, SENTRi, ADS, or FEKO.
  • Proficiency in the quality assurance of specialized measurement techniques including anechoic chamber, near field/far field RF, and RCS measurements.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and manufacturing methodologies like DFMEA, PFMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, and GD&T.
  • Analytical skills for data mining, metrics generation, and statistical analysis using tools such as MatLab, JMP, or MiniTab.
