Senior Lead Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Own platform-level architecture and technical strategy to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native solutions.
• Lead complex technical initiatives from discovery through delivery, establishing engineering standards and reusable patterns.
• Design and implement backend services, GraphQL APIs, and React UIs using micro-frontends and static content pipelines.
• Manage content discovery capabilities including Lucene-based full-text search and automated content authoring pipelines.
• Write high-quality, secure code in Java, Python, and TypeScript while modeling best-in-class engineering practices.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on guidance on system design and implementation.
• Set and enforce non-functional standards for security, performance, observability, and cost efficiency across the SDLC.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Proven expertise in distributed system design, application architecture, and technical leadership.
• Hands-on proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python with experience designing GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Deep experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures, including ECS/Fargate, SNS, SQS, Lambda, API Gateway, and S3.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and understanding responsible AI use.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and align technical decisions with business outcomes.
• Infrastructure as Code expertise using Terraform (preferred).
