Senior Java Big Data Developer

What you'll do

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for the Regulatory Reporting Hub.
• Develop core components of Risk and Finance dashboard applications using Java, J2EE, and JavaScript.
• Implement reconciliation processes for regulatory and financial data.
• Design and contribute to architectural solutions for high-visibility, compliance-driven systems.
• Define testing strategies and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders.
• Provide post-implementation support to ensure application stability and resolve technical issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within an agile delivery environment.
• Evaluate existing processes to recommend improvements for code, architecture, and operational efficiency.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree, university degree, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience in Java with expert skills in Core Java, Spring, Web Services, and J2EE.
• 5+ years of experience implementing enterprise-level Java development projects.
• Expert knowledge of Apache Spring, Spark, Kafka, and the Cloudera ecosystem (Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Impala).
• Expert knowledge of JSON, XSD, RESTful web services, design patterns, and databases.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, AJAX, and CSS for front-end development including experience with AngularJS.
• Experience developing high-performance, multi-threaded applications and using source code management tools like SVN and Bitbucket.
• Banking operations experience regarding trade processing flows (preferred); experience in the financial sector or regulatory business knowledge (preferred).
