As an Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst - AVP, you will join the team supporting the Regulatory Reporting Hub to develop and enhance Risk and Finance dashboard applications. You will design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade Java/J2EE web applications while managing front-end components using JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML5, CSS, and AJAX. Your role involves participating in architectural discussions, mentoring junior developers, and translating business requirements into technical specifications within an Agile environment. The technical stack includes Core Java, Spring Framework, Spring MVC, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, the Cloudera Ecosystem, RESTful Web Services, XSD, JSON, and WebSphere. You will solve complex problems related to global regulatory compliance and trade processing flows. This position is critical for ensuring the reliability of systems that manage sensitive analytical data and fulfill essential financial reporting obligations across the organization's operations.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain enterprise-grade Java/J2EE web applications for Risk and Finance regulatory reporting workflows.
  • Build and enhance front-end dashboard components using JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML5, CSS, and AJAX.
  • Participate in architectural design discussions to solve complex technical and design challenges.
  • Review code quality, remediate defects, and provide technical mentorship to junior developers.
  • Evaluate processing pipelines to recommend improvements for system efficiency and performance.
  • Translate business requirements from stakeholders into detailed technical specifications.
  • Define and execute testing strategies, including managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and post-implementation support.
  • Lead stakeholder status meetings and provide reporting inputs for steering committee updates.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6–10 years of enterprise-level Java development experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Core Java, Spring Framework, Spring MVC, and J2EE.
  • Expertise in Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and the Cloudera Ecosystem (Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Impala).
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies including JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML5, CSS, and AJAX.
  • Proficiency in RESTful Web Services, XSD, JSON, and server-side integration patterns.
  • Experience with web application servers like WebSphere and WASND, and source code management tools like SVN and Bitbucket.
  • Experience in the banking, financial services, or compliance sector is strongly preferred.
