Senior Infra Engineer, Events Platform

What you'll do

• Design, build, and operate high-throughput streaming pipelines to process behavioral event data at massive scale.
• Ensure data correctness and compliance during the enrichment and routing of events to downstream consumers.
• Optimize pipeline reliability by improving latency, memory usage, and Kafka throughput.
• Develop observability solutions including metrics, alerting, and tracing to reduce production noise.
• Manage the operational health of production systems and participate in on-call rotations.
• Implement complex pipeline logic such as aggregations, rollups, and data enrichment.
• Maintain and scale production workloads running on Kubernetes.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience building and operating high-throughput data processing systems in production at meaningful scale.
• Proficiency in Java or a similar JVM/statically-typed language such as Kotlin, Scala, Go, or Rust.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Flink or a comparable stream processing framework like Dataflow or Spark Streaming.
• Working knowledge of Apache Kafka including producing, consuming, tuning throughput, and understanding operational behavior under load.
• Experience with Kubernetes in a production context to run workloads and own their reliability.
• Operational mindset including experience with on-call rotations, latency, and memory optimization.
• Experience with behavioral or event data pipelines (preferred).
• Experience with observability work including metrics, alerting, tracing, and reducing noise (preferred).
