Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

What you'll do

• Act as a hands-on technical build partner for strategic customers to drive projects from initial idea to launch.
• Design and shape scalable, resilient architectures on the Cloudflare platform to prevent future technical bottlenecks.
• Develop prototype code and reference implementations alongside customer engineering teams to solve complex problems.
• Review customer code to provide guidance on improving performance, security, and overall quality.
• Diagnose and resolve difficult technical issues across the full stack to remove blockers for customers.
• Create reusable reference code, samples, and technical documentation for the broader customer base.
• Identify product gaps and share real-world edge cases with internal Product and Engineering teams to influence the roadmap.
• Build trusted relationships with customer engineers and executives to accelerate the adoption of Cloudflare services.

What we're looking for

• Must have at least 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Must demonstrate a track record of building and owning production-grade, mission-critical systems.
• Must possess full-stack architectural depth across frontend, backend, database optimization, and distributed infrastructure.
• Must be proficient in integrating AI-augmented workflows into daily development cycles.
• Must have deep experience with at least one major cloud provider including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Must be able to translate complex engineering trade-offs into business impact for executive stakeholders.
• Must be authorized to receive software or technology controlled under U.S. export control laws.
