Senior Engineering Team Director, Aladdin Engineering ETF Systems Engineering

What you'll do

• Define and drive the long-term technical vision for the ETF engineering platform in alignment with corporate standards.
• Own domain architecture decisions including microservices, event-driven systems, cloud-native infrastructure, and API design.
• Execute the AI/GenAI adoption strategy to improve development speed, automation, and product features.
• Oversee delivery across multiple teams using Agile/SAFe frameworks while managing cross-team dependencies and release governance.
• Ensure all engineering practices comply with global regulations, risk policies, and internal security requirements.
• Manage production stability, incident response, and the continuous improvement of operational efficiency for global applications.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a globally distributed team of over 50 engineers across multiple time zones.
• Partner with product and business leadership to align engineering investments with commercial growth strategies.

What we're looking for

• 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience with 5+ years in senior leadership roles managing large, globally distributed teams.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in building and operating high-availability, mission-critical financial systems at scale.
• Strong technical foundation in Java, microservices architecture, cloud-native infrastructure (Azure/AWS), event-driven systems (Kafka), and modern CI/CD practices.
• Proven ability to drive organizational design, talent development, and engineering culture in a regulated environment.
• Ability to partner effectively with executive leadership and across business and technology functions.
• Experience with ETF primary markets, capital markets technology, or investment management platforms (preferred).
• Experience leading AI/GenAI adoption in engineering organizations and familiarity with financial regulatory frameworks (preferred).
