Senior Director, Technical Program Management

What you'll do

• Set multi-year program directions by identifying systemic constraints and establishing investment cases and roadmaps.
• Shape technical strategy by identifying scaling limits, hidden dependencies, and failure modes with principal engineers.
• Quantify customer impact and cost of delay to prioritize investments in growth, retention, and unit economics.
• Own execution across organizations by managing the critical path and driving resource decisions for interdependent programs.
• Drive executive alignment by reconciling competing priorities and writing concise decision documents for senior leadership.
• Resolve systemic risks by leading corrective programs that address root causes in architecture and delivery practices.
• Build durable operating mechanisms including planning practices, outcome metrics, and automated workflows for independent team use.
• Multiply leadership capacity by mentoring senior TPMs and strengthening technical judgment across the TPM community.

What we're looking for

• 10+ years of experience in technical program management, technical product management, or engineering.
• 10+ years of experience with people leadership in technical program management.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and production cloud architectures, including storage, databases, compute, networking, or reliability.
• Demonstrated ability to influence VPs and SVPs to resolve conflicting objectives and secure engineering capacity.
• Strong business and analytical judgment to evaluate alternatives and measure service performance or cost improvements.
• Exceptional written communication skills for creating strategy documents and executive recommendations.
• Experience leading major cloud platform transitions, regional expansion, or service reliability programs (preferred).
