The Senior Director, Power Systems Engineering – OCI Data Center Infrastructure leads the global Power Systems Engineering organization to support rapidly growing AI and cloud infrastructure requirements. This leader establishes long-term technical strategies for power delivery, overseeing utility interconnections, transmission, substations, and on-site generation. Key responsibilities include developing scalable solutions for battery energy storage systems, load management, and grid-support mechanisms while performing technical due diligence for prospective sites. The role requires building and leading a high-performing team of engineers to perform advanced modeling and testing. Candidates must possess deep expertise in power systems analysis using tools like PSCAD, ETAP, SKM, and EMTP. The position solves complex grid integration challenges by translating dynamic AI load characteristics into reliable, high-capacity infrastructure architectures and first-of-a-kind technology qualifications.
Build and lead a global Power Systems Engineering organization to support AI and cloud infrastructure.
Establish long-term power strategies for utility supply, transmission, substations, energy storage, and on-site generation.
Lead technical engineering for global utility interconnections and grid integration with external providers.
Perform power-system technical due diligence for prospective sites to assess capacity, reliability, and delivery risk.
Own the engineering strategy and technical requirements for battery energy storage systems (BESS) and other storage technologies.
Develop architectures for load management, including demand response, peak reduction, and flexible load mechanisms.
Lead advanced power system modeling and analysis using platforms like PSCAD, ETAP, and SKM.
Own the technical validation strategy for first-of-a-kind (FOAK) power technologies through laboratory and site testing.
What we're looking for
15+ years of progressive experience in power systems engineering, utility infrastructure, generation, transmission, energy storage, or large-scale mission-critical infrastructure.
Significant experience leading senior power systems engineers and building high-performing technical organizations.
Deep expertise in utility interconnections, transmission and distribution systems, substations, protection and controls, and power-system analysis.
Demonstrated experience developing or integrating BESS, on-site generation, microgrids, load-management, or other behind-the-meter power solutions.
Experience developing and validating complex power architectures through modeling and physical testing.
Demonstrated ability to influence utilities, OEMs, engineering partners, and senior internal stakeholders without relying solely on organizational authority.
Experience supporting hundreds-of-MW to GW-scale infrastructure developments (preferred).
Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
