Power Systems Architect

What you'll do

• Define and refine system-level architectures for grid interconnection, substations, generation, and BESS.
• Set and approve operating philosophies for grid dependency, onsite generation, and black-start readiness.
• Serve as the principal technical interface with utilities, RTOs/ISOs, and regulatory bodies.
• Lead and approve major system engineering studies including load flow, short-circuit, and protection.
• Enforce power quality, resiliency, and redundancy standards across the global infrastructure portfolio.
• Own factory and site acceptance testing and provide final signoff for energization.
• Chair architectural design reviews to resolve technical tradeoffs between generation, storage, and controls.
• Lead root-cause analysis and technical troubleshooting for post-commissioning issues.

What we're looking for

• Must have 15+ years of progressive experience in power systems engineering, transmission and distribution, or utility-scale generation.
• Must have a track record of successful design and delivery of projects at 230 kV or higher.
• Must possess expertise with HV/MV substations (AIS/GIS: 13.8kV–345kV+), system-level protection, and utility interconnect.
• Must have extensive experience with power system simulation and analysis tools such as PSCAD, ETAP, PSS/E, DigSILENT, or ASPEN.
• Must have a deep understanding of utility codes, standards, and best practices in interconnection and compliance.
• Must have experience integrating generation, substation, BESS, and microgrid for mission-critical power delivery.
• Must have the ability to influence cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred (preferred).
