Senior Director of Software Engineering, API Marketplace

What you'll do

• Lead the technology delivery of an external-facing developer portal for high-value partners to onboard mission-critical banking APIs.
• Drive the development of intuitive and robust API access in alignment with business objectives and design leadership.
• Support the end-to-end API value chain by coordinating with internal providers to expose B2B capabilities.
• Scale multi-department strategies for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC automation to improve speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Establish guardrails and standards for AI-orchestrated delivery workflows, including security, resilience, and automated test modernization.
• Provide high-level direction and leadership to teams across multiple platforms, divisions, and lines of business.
• Act as the primary interface with senior executives to drive consensus across competing objectives and complex projects.
• Influence peer leaders and stakeholders across product and technology teams to ensure cross-domain reuse and capacity gains.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within a domain of expertise.
• Proven experience designing and implementing REST and GraphQL APIs following industry best practices.
• In-depth experience with one or more API Gateways to manage and optimize traffic and security.
• Proficiency in React UI development for building scalable and efficient user interfaces.
• Experience leading multi-organization adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering operating models and defining governance frameworks.
• Deep understanding of responsible AI risk, controls, and resiliency/security expectations at scale.
• Extensive practical cloud native experience.
