The Senior Director, Business Strategy - Product Operations & Chief of Staff – AI Commerce serves as a strategic thought partner and operational leader for the AI Commerce product organization. This role involves driving global planning, prioritization, and execution across AI shopping experiences on external platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini, as well as internal tools like Sparky, MyWalmart, and MyAssistant. You will establish portfolio reviews, executive communications, and operating cadences while managing dependencies across in-store technology, omnichannel services like Pharmacy and Auto Care, and back-office systems including financial reporting and security. The position requires expertise in product operations, strategy, and program management to navigate complex environments. Key competencies include familiarity with AI, conversational experiences, agentic workflows, and platform ecosystems to translate strategy into coordinated execution.
Drive global planning, prioritization, and execution for AI shopping experiences on external and internal platforms.
Coordinate technology initiatives for in-store customer and associate navigation experiences.
Support product strategy for omnichannel services including Pharmacy, Optical, Bakery, and Auto Care.
Align corporate and back-office technology systems including finance, reporting, forecasting, and security.
Establish portfolio reviews, executive communications, and decision-making mechanisms for senior leadership.
Analyze metrics against goals to identify risks, resource needs, and cross-functional dependencies.
Translate high-level product strategy into coordinated execution and measurable business results.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Social Science, Communications, or related field and 7 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area.
9 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area if a Bachelor’s degree is not held.
3 years’ supervisory experience.
Significant experience in product operations, chief of staff, strategy and operations, program management, or product leadership within a large, complex organization.
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across Product, Engineering, Design, Operations, and executive stakeholders.
Experience managing a broad portfolio of customer-facing, associate-facing, and enterprise technology initiatives.
Strong strategic judgment, executive communication skills, and ability to bring structure to ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
Familiarity with AI, digital commerce, conversational experiences, agentic workflows, or platform ecosystems (preferred).
