The Senior Director, AI Solutions Architecture leads the enterprise AI solution architecture strategy, translating complex business needs into scalable AI products, platforms, and capabilities. Working with cross-functional stakeholders across R&D, Operations, Commercial, and corporate functions, this leader decomposes ambiguous opportunities into executable solution pathways and blueprints. The role involves assessing technical feasibility, data readiness, and operating model requirements while ensuring solutions are secure, governed, and production-ready. Key technical competencies include modern AI/ML methods, generative AI, data platforms, APIs, cloud architecture, MLOps, and production AI systems. The position addresses the business problem of integrating AI into a regulated biotech environment, requiring a focus on responsible AI practices, privacy, security, and regulatory considerations to deliver measurable impact and ROI across the enterprise.
Define and lead the enterprise AI solution architecture strategy to translate business needs into scalable products.
Co-create high-impact AI solutions with cross-functional stakeholders across R&D, Operations, Commercial, and corporate functions.
Develop solution blueprints connecting business objectives, user needs, AI/ML methods, data assets, and measurable ROI.
Assess technical feasibility, data readiness, implementation complexity, and operating model requirements for proposed AI initiatives.
Establish reusable standards and frameworks for AI solution intake, prioritization, architecture review, and delivery readiness.
Build and lead a high-performing AI solution architecture function by hiring and developing technical experts.
Approve solution architecture approaches, technical trade-offs, and delivery pathways for priority AI initiatives.
Represent the AI Solution Architecture function in executive forums and cross-functional governance discussions.
What we're looking for
Must have a Doctorate with 4 years of relevant experience, a Master’s with 6 years, or a Bachelor’s with 8 years of relevant experience.
Must have 4+ years of direct managerial experience, including experience managing managers or senior technical leaders.
Experience in AI, machine learning, data science, computer science, engineering, product, or technology strategy is required.
12+ years of experience in AI/ML, data science, enterprise architecture, product management, or technology strategy (preferred).
Proven track record of designing, scaling, or leading enterprise AI products or solutions that delivered measurable business impact and ROI (preferred).
Deep technical understanding of generative AI, MLOps, cloud architecture, and production AI systems (preferred).
Advanced technical degree in computer science, engineering, or data science and an MBA or equivalent business education (preferred).
Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated industries with familiarity in responsible AI and privacy (preferred).
