What you'll do

Lead a geographically distributed team of engineers responsible for the capacity data lake and associated pipelines.
Manage the ingestion, modeling, and governance of data connecting customer demand, platform supply, and infrastructure costs.
Set the technical direction for how capacity data is served to planners, finance teams, and executives.
Act as a hands-on technical contributor by solving complex architecture and data quality problems with the team.
Build foundational data systems that inform multi-hundred-million-dollar infrastructure and capacity planning decisions.
Ensure high standards of data reliability and accuracy for critical internal reporting and analytics.
Translate complex, heterogeneous data into actionable business insights for senior leadership.

What we're looking for

BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of engineering leadership experience including hiring, mentoring, and growing engineers.
Hands-on data engineering background in designing data lakes, models, and large-scale ingestion/ETL pipelines.
Experience with big-data technologies such as Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, and cloud data stores like Aurora or S3.
Ability to remain technically hands-on by leading architecture reviews and solving complex data-quality problems.
Strong data-analysis instincts to derive and communicate business insights from complex, heterogeneous data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical strategy to engineers and senior leadership.
Willingness and ability to be based in Seattle while leading a geographically distributed team.
