Senior Software Engineer, Apple Services Engineering

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and support distributed applications that ingest and process massive volumes of operational data.
• Integrate large-scale data processing engines like Spark, Trino, or Flink into the service architecture.
• Deploy, scale, and maintain highly concurrent and throughput-intensive services on Kubernetes.
• Drive end-to-end project execution from initial design reviews through production releases.
• Triage, investigate, and remediate production and operational issues.
• Build applications and services to provide observability for CloudKit and other iCloud services.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience developing software in Java or a similar language like C++, C#, or Go.
• Strong background in designing, building, and operating backend services and distributed systems.
• Experience programming in concurrent and multi-threaded environments.
• Experience deploying applications on Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent job-related experience.
• Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks like Spark, Flink, or Trino and languages like Scala or Python (preferred).
• Familiarity with time-series event data, distributed streaming architectures, and data analytics at scale (preferred).
• Experience with observability concepts, frameworks, and cloud native technologies like AWS or GCP (preferred).
