Senior Data Center Construction Manager joins the Data Center Infrastructure Construction team to lead a large-scale Michigan project providing significant capacity for cloud and AI infrastructure. This onsite role involves driving field execution across base building, MEP infrastructure, commissioning readiness, and high-density fit-out activities. The manager is responsible for developing project schedules, managing risk registers, overseeing budget tracking, and ensuring quality control across power, cooling, controls, networking, and structured cabling systems. Key responsibilities include coordinating with colocation providers, general contractors, and design teams to resolve construction hurdles and manage vendor performance. Essential skills include construction schedule management, risk mitigation, stakeholder coordination, and technical documentation. The role addresses the complex challenge of delivering mission-critical infrastructure at scale while ensuring all work meets specific quality standards and safety requirements during the commissioning and turnover phases.
Lead onsite construction activities for base building, MEP infrastructure, and high-density fit-out projects.
Manage project schedules, milestone trackers, risk registers, and technical documentation to ensure timely delivery.
Oversee quality control processes to ensure construction meets design specifications and Oracle standards.
Conduct site walks to monitor progress, safety, workmanship, and coordination across all project phases.
Coordinate startup, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and turnover for critical infrastructure.
Identify and mitigate risks related to schedule, procurement, design readiness, and field execution.
Serve as the primary onsite point of contact between Oracle and colocation providers or contractors.
Resolve construction issues by coordinating with design teams and managing vendor performance.
What we're looking for
Must have 11 years of experience in construction project management, engineering, infrastructure delivery, or equivalent experience; OR a Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience; OR a Master's degree and 5 years of experience; OR a Doctorate and 3 years of experience.
Experience supporting complex construction projects with multiple stakeholders, contractors, disciplines, schedules, and delivery risks.
Experience with construction execution, schedule coordination, quality assurance, design coordination, change management, commissioning, turnover, or closeout processes.
Ability to work onsite full time in Saline, MI.
Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced field environment and drive accountability without direct authority.
Experience in data center, mission-critical, semiconductor, industrial, power, utility, heavy commercial, or large-scale infrastructure construction (preferred).
Experience with base building, MEP systems, high-density environments, liquid cooling, and advanced electrical infrastructure (preferred).
