Senior Customer Engineer, Public Sector Federal

What you'll do

• Lead technical discussions and implementations to generate new business and expand existing customer accounts.
• Qualify prospect use cases and discover technical requirements to identify best-fit solutions.
• Lead product demonstrations and collaborate on proofs-of-concept (PoCs) for potential customers.
• Advise existing customers on technical best practices and the implementation of Cloudflare products.
• Create technical documentation and provide strategic guidance for long-term customer technology goals.
• Train and onboard new customers through in-person meetings, video conferences, and educational materials.
• Translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand terms for diverse audiences including IT managers and C-levels.
• Travel 35-45% of the time to attend meetings, conferences, and industry events with prospects.

What we're looking for

• Demonstrated understanding of internet technologies including OSI Model layers 1-7, Routing TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTP(S), and SSL/TLS.
• Comfortable with SASE frameworks and related technologies such as Secure Web Gateway, CASB, DLP, and SD-WAN.
• Comfortable with on-premise infrastructure and networking configurations, including legacy systems.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a customer-facing sales or consulting role supporting the US Federal Government.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand terms for diverse audiences.
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience serving the US Department of Defense or DISA market segment (preferred).
• Export control laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
