Senior Cloud Engineer (Wallet, Payments and Commerce)

What you'll do

• Design and deliver end-to-end platform capabilities from initial requirements gathering to production deployment.
• Set technical direction for multi-quarter initiatives by aligning engineering, security, and SRE partners on shared outcomes.
• Architect and evolve "platform-as-a-product" offerings to reduce friction for internal developers.
• Lead the design and rollout of infrastructure build pipelines and CI/CD releases in a platform environment.
• Solve complex technical problems using a mix of open-source and in-house tooling while maintaining long-term platform health.
• Scale existing technologies and shepherd new technologies from experimental phases to production-grade adoption.
• Represent the team in cross-organization initiatives to ensure a cohesive technical strategy across platforms and security teams.
• Evangelize next-generation cloud and DevOps practices to build organizational credibility and shared understanding.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and platform engineering, owning systems end-to-end in production.
• Experience building platforms, microservices, distributed systems, and APIs on Kubernetes using gRPC or REST.
• Expertise in managing multi-tenant, multi-cluster, and multi-region Kubernetes and container footprints.
• Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically designing composition and provider patterns using Crossplane and Terraform.
• Proficiency in public cloud services, GitOps, and CI/CD tools such as Flux, Jenkins, and Kargo.
• Strong networking fundamentals (NATs, TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, mTLS) and Linux systems-level troubleshooting.
• Experience with observability stacks including Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, and Datadog.
• 10+ years of work experience, Golang proficiency, Kubernetes Operator pattern, service meshes, and a Bachelor's degree (preferred).
