The Senior Air Vehicle Systems Engineer, Hardware Verification, Integration & Validation joins the systems engineering team to support the production of a Group 5 autonomous aircraft. This role is responsible for hardware verification and execution across the full product lifecycle, including design verification testing, environmental qualification, production acceptance, and ground and flight tests. The engineer ensures all hardware meets system-level requirements and technical performance metrics while maintaining documentation according to the Systems Engineering Management Plan. Key responsibilities include developing verification cross-reference matrices and test plans using tools like Jama, DOORS, Polarion, and Microsoft Office. The position requires expertise in MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and MIL-STD-704 standards to validate electronic and electromechanical hardware components like avionics and actuators within complex aerospace and defense environments.
Execute hardware verification and testing across the full product lifecycle from design to production.
Demonstrate that all hardware meets system-level requirements and technical performance metrics before fielding.
Plan, execute, and document verification activities in accordance with the program Systems Engineering Management Plan.
Conduct environmental qualification testing for electronic and electromechanical hardware including vibration, shock, and temperature.
Perform EMI/EMC testing and electromagnetic environmental effects analysis.
Develop verification cross-reference matrices, test plans, and verification evidence packages.
Decompose system-level requirements into component-level verification evidence using requirements management tools.
Perform similarity assessments and gap analysis for COTS and MOTS hardware using Qualification by Similarity.
What we're looking for
B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or a similar engineering or technical field.
7+ years of experience in systems engineering, hardware qualification, or test and evaluation in aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated industries.
Direct experience supporting environmental qualification testing of electronic or electromechanical hardware.
Working knowledge of MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and MIL-STD-704.
Experience with requirements traceability, V&V planning, and the systems engineering V-model.
Proficiency with requirements management tools such as Jama, DOORS, or Polarion.
U.S. citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
