What you'll do

Translate customer needs into specific air vehicle and subsystem software requirements.
Develop system engineering artifacts and models to trace stakeholder inputs through the design process.
Integrate input from safety and software engineering teams to shape system architecture.
Support airworthiness certification processes for autonomous aircraft systems.
Manage and communicate program risks in coordination with leadership.
Develop subsystem software requirements and interfaces for mission systems.
Create model-based systems engineering artifacts including activity diagrams, use cases, and parametric diagrams.
Incorporate feedback from test and evaluation campaigns to improve products and systems.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, computer science, or a similar engineering or technical field.
At least 7 years of experience in the lifecycle of an unmanned aerial system (UAS) with a focus on aircraft systems.
Experience developing subsystem software requirements and interfaces, including mission systems and contingency management software architecture.
Familiarity with standards such as MIL-HDBK-516C, MIL-STD-882E, ARP-4761, ARP-4754A, DO-178C, DO-254, and MIL-STD-881.
Experience on mature aircraft development programs involving operational testing and airworthiness certification.
Proficiency with SysML, DoDAF, UAFP, or similar systems engineering methodologies and model-based artifacts.
Ability to communicate effectively and present developed technical artifacts to stakeholders.
Must hold an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
