The Air Vehicle Systems Engineer, Hardware Verification, Integration & Validation joins the systems engineering team to support the production of a Group 5 autonomous aircraft. This role involves hardware verification and execution across the full product lifecycle, including design verification testing, environmental qualification, production acceptance, and ground and flight tests. The engineer ensures all hardware meets system-level requirements and technical performance metrics by planning and documenting activities according to the Systems Engineering Management Plan. Key responsibilities include developing verification cross-reference matrices and test plans while performing requirements traceability. Required technical skills include knowledge of MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and MIL-STD-704 standards. Candidates must be proficient with requirements management tools like Jama, DOORS, or Polarion, and Microsoft Office for data analysis and technical reporting.
Execute hardware verification and testing across the full product lifecycle from design to flight test.
Demonstrate that all hardware meets system-level requirements and technical performance metrics before fielding.
Plan, execute, and document verification activities in accordance with the program Systems Engineering Management Plan.
Perform environmental qualification testing for electronic and electromechanical hardware including vibration, shock, and temperature.
Develop verification cross-reference matrices, test plans, and verification evidence packages.
Decompose system-level requirements into component-level verification evidence using requirements management tools.
Conduct similarity assessments and gap analyses for COTS and MOTS hardware using Qualification by Similarity.
Interpret qualification test reports, certificates of conformance, and supplier technical data packages.
What we're looking for
B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or a similar engineering or technical field.
3+ years of experience in systems engineering, hardware qualification, or test and evaluation in aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated industries.
Direct experience supporting environmental qualification testing of electronic or electromechanical hardware.
Working knowledge of MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and MIL-STD-704.
Experience with requirements traceability, V&V planning (VCRMs, test plans), and the systems engineering V-model.
Proficiency with requirements management tools like Jama, DOORS, or Polarion, and Microsoft Office.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
