JOB TITLE: Scrum Master
As a senior Scrum Master, you will join a technical team to manage the delivery of mission-focused software capabilities throughout the software development lifecycle. You will facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Your core responsibilities involve partnering with technical leads and product owners to maintain actionable backlogs, establish delivery plans, identify risks, and remove blockers. You will use Jira and Confluence to manage documentation, sprint execution, and reporting. The role requires expertise in Agile practices, software engineering, and coordinating dependencies across infrastructure, cybersecurity, and product teams. You will operate within a highly regulated environment, translating technical delivery information into executive-level communications while ensuring the team maintains a steady cadence to meet complex mission requirements.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Partner with technical leads and product owners to maintain actionable backlogs and realistic delivery plans.
Identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and blockers to ensure smooth software delivery.
Translate mission priorities into executable work and establish a consistent delivery cadence for the team.
Coordinate delivery activities across software engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and product teams.
Coach team members on Agile practices to improve team effectiveness, predictability, and software delivery.
Use Jira and Confluence to manage documentation, sprint execution, risks, and reporting.
Communicate progress, challenges, and upcoming decisions clearly to government stakeholders and senior leadership.
What we're looking for
4+ years of experience leading or coordinating software development teams through the software development lifecycle.
Experience serving as a Scrum Master, delivery lead, or role supporting software engineering teams.
Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Experience partnering with product owners and technical leads to develop, prioritize, and maintain software development backlogs and delivery plans.
Experience identifying, analyzing, tracking, and managing project risks, issues, dependencies, blockers, and opportunities through resolution.
Experience using Jira and Confluence to manage software development activities, documentation, backlogs, sprint execution, risks, dependencies, and reporting.
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business with 7+ years of Agile software delivery experience, or 11+ years of experience without a degree.
