Satellite GNC Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and analyze algorithms for state estimation, attitude determination, control, and precise pointing.
• Write production C++ flight code to implement GNC algorithms on the satellite.
• Develop onboard autonomy features including Fault Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR).
• Create and validate 6-DOF time-domain simulations and Monte Carlo analyses for the constellation.
• Perform hardware-in-the-loop testing and support component-level environmental testing in the lab.
• Analyze fleet telemetry to build metrics and dashboards for monitoring pointing performance.
• Operate the GNC system on orbit by supporting maneuvers and resolving anomalies.
• Design concepts of operation balancing pointing, momentum management, power, and thermal requirements.

What we're looking for

• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
• PhD or a Master's degree with 4+ years of quantitative field research experience.
• Experience developing guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for aerospace systems.
• Experience converting research studies into tangible real-world changes (preferred).
• Experience with discrete and continuous optimization methodologies and algorithms (preferred).
• Experience developing guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for spacecraft (preferred).
• Export control laws and regulations, candidates.
