GNC Engineer, ADCS

What you'll do

• Develop and write production C++ or Python code for GNC algorithms, simulations, tools, and dashboards.
• Design and implement flight software for onboard GNC algorithms to achieve vehicle autonomy and fault tolerance.
• Create high-fidelity 6DOF models and simulations of vehicle dynamics, sensors, actuators, and their interactions.
• Perform Monte Carlo simulation analysis to validate flight safety and quantify navigation and control performance.
• Conduct hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing, including test case design and data review automation.
• Design concepts of operations (CONOPs) balancing thermal, power, momentum, and communication constraints.
• Support on-call operations by commanding satellites and reviewing network data to maintain peak performance.
• Perform bulk data analysis to review performance data from the Starlink constellation and network.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, aerospace, physics, or an engineering discipline.
• Software development experience in either C++ or Python.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for required Department of State authorizations.
• Master's degree or PhD in an engineering discipline or physics (preferred).
• Experience developing, debugging, and deploying software for real-world applications (preferred).
• Strong understanding of orbital mechanics, including low thrust trajectory optimization and stationkeeping (preferred).
• Experience with state estimation, particularly attitude determination, orbit determination, GNSS, and radio navigation (preferred).
• Experience verifying GNC algorithm performance via simulation and validating simulation models (preferred).
