As a SATCOM Gov SysDev Engineer III, you will join the Amazon Leo team to define satcom business operations data engineering and customer operational health. You will design and implement resilient, scalable systems while driving test automation and business process improvements to eliminate repetitive work using AI technology. Your daily responsibilities include designing technical architectures, leading architecture reviews, and developing tools for infrastructure deployment and support. The role requires proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, CI/CD pipelines, and at least one modern programming language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust. You will also utilize data analytics platforms like Power BI, SQL, or Tableau. This position focuses on solving complex technical problems within the domain of space-based systems design and wireless systems to provide reliable internet connectivity for government agencies.
Design and implement scalable architecture solutions to solve complex business and technical problems.
Define and enforce engineering best practices and operational excellence standards across multiple teams.
Identify and develop automation opportunities to reduce operational burden and improve system resiliency.
Lead architecture reviews, design reviews, and post-incident analyses to ensure system reliability.
Develop technical strategies and influence prioritization for sustainable operations and risk mitigation.
Mentor and coach engineers on technical skills, troubleshooting techniques, and career development.
Create high-quality technical artifacts including code, documentation, runbooks, and dashboards.
What we're looking for
Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure.
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
Experience with Linux/Unix systems.
Experience with CI/CD pipeline build processes.
Experience with data analytics platforms (Power BI, Python, SQL, Tableau) or advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence.
Experience with distributed systems at scale (preferred).
Experience with automated test frameworks like Selenium or Appium (preferred).
Experience configuring, scripting, or integrating an enterprise ITSM/CRM platform such as ServiceNow, Salesforce, or Jira Service Management (preferred).
