System Development Engineer III

What you'll do

• Manage and scale Over-The-Air (OTA) software update systems for millions of customer terminals.
• Develop infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and rapid updates across multiple hardware variants.
• Implement staged rollout strategies and automated release safety mechanisms for device fleets.
• Build observability tools and anomaly detection systems for large-scale device management.
• Design and automate the deployment and support of large-scale distributed infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery processes.
• Create data-driven solutions to improve system performance and operational efficiency.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
• Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
• Experience with Linux/Unix systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build processes.
• Experience with OTA update systems, fleet management platforms, or large-scale device management (IoT, mobile, embedded, or similar).
• Experience with staged/progressive rollout strategies and automated release safety mechanisms.
• Experience building observability and anomaly detection for device fleets.
• Experience with distributed systems at scale (preferred).
