TL;DR · RTL Design Engineer
The RTL Design Engineer joins the mixed-signal silicon design team to develop, verify, and support the lab bring-up of sophisticated digital and mixed-signal circuits with signal processing capabilities. This role involves micro-architecting digital blocks, performing RTL coding for DSP algorithms like filtering and transforms, and ensuring formal equivalence between custom designs and abstract representations. You will work daily with Verilog, SystemVerilog, Perl, and Python to optimize high-performance pipelines through pipelining and parallelization. Key responsibilities include writing assertions, developing testbenches, and collaborating with analog designers and algorithm engineers to integrate complex IPs into high-speed digital circuits. The role addresses the technical challenge of integrating mixed-signal and analog components into modern silicon while utilizing advanced verification techniques, synthesis, static timing analysis, and GenAI tools for hardware design optimization and validation.
Skills
What you'll do
- Specify and micro-architect digital and signal processing blocks within mixed-signal circuits.
- Develop and optimize RTL code using Verilog or SystemVerilog for high-performance pipelines.
- Translate complex DSP algorithms into efficient hardware implementations including filtering, transforms, and modulation.
- Write comprehensive assertions and unit-level testbenches to perform functional verification of designs.
- Integrate mixed-signal and analog IPs into high-speed digital circuits while ensuring formal equivalence.
- Develop test scripts and analyze lab data to support silicon bring-up and characterization.
- Validate signal processing performance through experimental analysis and hardware optimization techniques.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor of Science degree.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog for RTL coding and optimization.
- Experience translating DSP concepts into high-performance RTL implementations (preferred).
- Expertise in front-end tools, synthesis, static timing analysis, and design-for-test (preferred).
- Knowledge of SystemVerilog assertions, formal verification, and low-power design methodologies (preferred).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl or Python (preferred).
- Experience with hardware-software co-design and GenAI tools for hardware design (preferred).
