RFIC Validation and Characterization Engineer

What you'll do

• Perform hands-on bench testing, characterization, and debugging of RF SoC components like transmitters, receivers, PLLs, and power amplifiers.
• Drive the bring-up and functional validation of new wireless SoCs from first silicon through mass production.
• Design and develop radio calibration algorithms and optimization routines.
• Automate RF measurements and data analysis by writing scripts to control test equipment and devices.
• Characterize and optimize key performance metrics including EVM, spectral mask, phase noise, sensitivity, IP3, NF, and ACPR.
• Debug complex chip-level and board-level issues such as desense and EMI problems.
• Design external matching networks to optimize transmit and receive radio performance.
• Develop and support RF calibration and test routines for ATE mass production environments.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Master's degree and relevant industry experience (preferred).
• Proven experience in RF test development, hands-on debug, performance characterization, and reporting.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python (highly desired), Perl, TCL, C++, or similar languages.
• Hands-on experience with standard RF test equipment including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, and signal generators.
• Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, wireless transceiver architectures, and digital communication systems.
• Knowledge of RF, PLL, and wireless system measurements such as IP3, NF, ACPR, phase noise, and lock time.
• Experience with RF PCB board design, layout considerations, and debugging.
