The successful candidate will perform lab, chamber, and over-the-air measurements while analyzing device behavior on commercial phones and modules. Key technical requirements include expertise in 3GPP NR or LTE physical layers, NTN, and RF test equipment like signal generators, network analyzers, and channel emulators. The position solves the technical challenge of connecting satellites directly to commercial phones by managing interference, coverage, and regulatory compliance.

What you'll do

Own the RF system performance of the D2D service link, including link budgets, margins, and coverage.
Define and allocate RF system requirements across the satellite payload, phased array, ground segment, and devices.
Lead RF characterization and validation for the payload, phased array, and beamforming systems.
Define and lead RF test plans for lab, RF chamber, and over-the-air measurements.
Analyze device RF behavior on commercial phones, including antenna performance, power classes, and coexistence.
Provide RF design inputs and measurements to the Regulatory and Compliance team to ensure emission limits are met.
Develop and improve RF measurement methods, calibration procedures, and automation tools.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in a related field.
8+ years of professional RF engineering experience.
At least 3 years of experience in the Direct-to-Device (D2D) ecosystem, NTN, or direct satellite-to-cellular connectivity.
Demonstrated experience owning RF link budgets, RF requirements, interference analysis, and RF characterization for satellite or cellular systems.
Experience with RF test equipment and methods including signal generators, analyzers, channel emulators, anechoic chambers, and over-the-air measurements.
Working knowledge of 3GPP NR or LTE physical layer and RF requirements, including NTN.
Experience working with commercial devices or chipsets in support of satellite or D2D services.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates.
