As a R&D Staff Engineer Software, you will join a small team of experienced engineers to design, develop, and deliver software and firmware for ultra-high-performance datacenter-scale solutions. You will own the full cradle-to-grave lifecycle of projects, including ZephyrOS/OpenBMC firmware, microcode, device drivers, embedded Linux/Yocto builds, and upper-level control software. Your daily work involves silicon, chip, board, and full-system bring-up, as well as driver development for interfaces like I2C, PMBus, AVSbus, MDIO, PCIe, SPI, USB, and SERDES. You must utilize C/C++ to manage complex multi-processor architectures like x86 and ARM. Key technical requirements include Redfish and DMTF standards, Secure Boot, u-boot, and Secure Root of Trust. You will also drive system-level validation, automation, and troubleshooting for datacenter networking and NIC architectures.

What you'll do

Design, develop, and deliver software and firmware for ultra-high-performance datacenter-scale solutions.
Own all aspects of a design including ZephyrOS/OpenBMC firmware, microcode, and device drivers.
Build and manage embedded Linux/Yocto systems and upper-level control software.
Perform early-stage silicon, chip, board, and full-system bring-up and debugging.
Write software for low-level interfaces including I2C, PMBus, PCIe, SPI, and USB.
Implement Secure Boot, u-boot, and Secure Root of Trust architectures.
Drive system-level validation, testing, and automation for product sustainability.
Assist with customer trials and address field issues throughout the product lifecycle.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in engineering.
8+ years of related experience.
Experience developing software in C++/C for large-scale, complex multi-processor architectures (x86, ARM).
Experience with Linux/Yocto, OpenBMC, and/or ZephyrOS.
Deep expertise in early-stage development, including silicon, chip, board, and full-system bring-up.
Hands-on experience writing software for low-level interfaces including I2C, PMBus, AVSbus, MDIO, PCIe, SPI, USB, and SERDES.
Strong knowledge of Redfish and DMTF standards including MCTP, PLDM, and SPDM.
Small Team Lead or proven technical mentor (preferred).
