R&D Maintenance Technician II, Development Lab Operations

What you'll do

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on mission-critical R&D test equipment like thermal vacuum chambers and environmental systems.
• Commission and operate specialized aerospace testing platforms with minimal oversight.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues without established procedures or job plans.
• Conduct root-cause failure analysis and perform functional checks on development test equipment.
• Manage inventory for single point failure critical spare parts and coordinate with vendors as a maintenance contact.
• Create comprehensive equipment maintenance procedures, safety documents, and daily work plans.
• Mentor and train junior technicians in day-to-day operations and safe maintenance techniques.
• Participate in risk assessments and process improvement initiatives like 6S/Kaizen programs.

What we're looking for

• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
• High school diploma or equivalent education is required.
• 3+ years of electrical, mechanical, and/or HVAC experience in critical infrastructure, or a technical certification with 1+ year of experience.
• Experience performing maintenance on vacuum chambers, thermal chambers, or vibration table equipment (preferred).
• 4+ years of electrical or mechanical experience in an aerospace development lab (preferred).
• Possession of an electrical or mechanical Journeyman License is preferred.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, diagrams, and flow charts.
• Ability to work at heights, use ladders, and lift up to 49 pounds.
