R&D Maintenance Technician II, Development Lab Operations

What you'll do

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on mission-critical R&D test equipment like thermal vacuum chambers.
• Commission and operate specialized aerospace testing platforms with minimal oversight.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues without established procedures.
• Conduct root-cause failure analysis and perform functional checks on development test equipment.
• Identify, procure, and maintain an inventory of critical spare parts for single points of failure.
• Create comprehensive maintenance procedures, job plans, and safety documentation for lab operations.
• Manage high-pressure systems, chilled water systems, and liquid/gaseous nitrogen systems.
• Mentor and train junior technicians on maintenance techniques and safe operational practices.

What we're looking for

• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of electrical, mechanical, and/or HVAC experience in critical infrastructure, or a technical certification with 1+ year of experience.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control systems using technical prints, schematics, and documentation.
• Advanced understanding of liquid/gaseous nitrogen, chilled water, and high-pressure systems.
• Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and work at heights from ladders.
• Preferred: Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License.
• Preferred: 1+ years experience with vacuum chambers, thermal chambers, or vibration tables; 4+ years in an aerospace development lab.
