R&D Maintenance Technician II, Development Lab Operations

What you'll do

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on mission-critical R&D test equipment like thermal vacuum chambers and aerospace platforms.
• Commission and operate specialized test equipment with minimal oversight while ensuring operational readiness.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues without established procedures or job plans.
• Conduct root-cause failure analysis and perform functional checks on development test equipment.
• Manage inventory of critical spare parts and identify utility requirements for new equipment installations.
• Create comprehensive maintenance procedures, safety documents, and technical work plans.
• Mentor and train junior technicians on maintenance techniques and safe operational practices.
• Participate in risk assessments and process improvement initiatives like 6S/Kaizen programs.

What we're looking for

• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
• High school diploma or equivalent education is required.
• 3+ years of electrical, mechanical, and/or HVAC experience in critical infrastructure, or a technical certification with 1+ year of experience.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings, diagrams, and flow charts.
• Proficiency with hand, diagnostic, and precision measuring tools.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Ability to work at heights/on ladders and lift up to 49 pounds.
• Preferred: Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License and experience with vacuum or thermal chamber equipment.
