What you'll do

  • Characterize superconducting qubits and devices through cryogenic measurements including coherence, relaxation, and spectroscopy.
  • Perform two-qubit gate performance evaluations on quantum hardware.
  • Execute measurement experiments using RF/microwave instrumentation and dilution refrigerators.
  • Manage automated data-acquisition systems to collect experimental results.
  • Analyze data to identify specific device and process limitations.
  • Diagnose hardware performance issues in coordination with fabrication, design, and software teams.
  • Translate characterization results into actionable improvements for qubit yield and quality.
  • Utilize AI/ML tools to automate experiments and improve engineering workflows.

What we're looking for

  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Candidates must have a BS or MS in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in experimental quantum hardware, microwave/RF measurements, or cryogenic systems is required.
  • Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and data acquisition is required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex experimental systems and communicate results across multidisciplinary teams is required.
  • Preferred experience includes characterizing superconducting qubits and microwave devices including spectroscopy and coherence measurements.
  • Basic proficiency with AI/ML tools for data analysis and experiment automation is preferred.
