What you'll do

  • Design, simulate, and optimize circuits and design workflows for scalable quantum computing systems.
  • Perform microwave and RF circuit design including filters, amplifiers, resonators, and transmission lines.
  • Conduct electromagnetic simulations using tools like Ansys HFSS or Cadence AWR.
  • Develop automated EDA methods and tools for circuit synthesis, verification, and layout optimization.
  • Apply AI-enabled methods such as reinforcement learning or graph neural networks to accelerate design workflows.
  • Create practical tools and design approaches for qubit control, readout, and packaging.
  • Develop Python scripts for analysis, simulation, and machine-learning workflows.

What we're looking for

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in an academic graduate program related to electrical engineering, microwave/RF engineering, EDA, computer engineering, or AI/ML is required.
  • Completion of coursework or projects in microwave/RF circuits, electromagnetics, IC design, or AI for EDA is required.
  • Familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys Custom Compiler, and other EDA design environments is required.
  • Programming experience in Python or a comparable language for analysis, simulation, automation, or machine-learning workflows is required.
  • Experience with microwave/RF circuit design and electromagnetic simulation tools like Ansys HFSS or Keysight ADS is preferred.
  • Experience applying modern AI methods such as LLMs or reinforcement learning to EDA workflows is preferred.
  • A strong publication record in circuit design, EDA, or AI venues is preferred.
